Privacy policy

Privacy policy

Effective 1 October 2026. This policy is for the Dream Catcher Android app and the service at https://dream-catcher.agenticai-labs.ai. Contact: [email protected].

You can delete your account in the app under Profile → Delete account, or without the app by following Delete your account.

The app

Dream Catcher is an Android dream journal. You create an account with a name, email address, and password, or you continue with Google. You record or type a dream. The app sends that dream to this service, which stores it, can transcribe the recording, asks a few clarifying questions, and writes a reading. Dream Catcher+ is a Google Play subscription. Free explorations can open after a Google rewarded ad.

The app asks for the microphone only so you can record a dream. It asks for internet access so the journal can reach this service. It does not ask for your location, contacts, photos, or SMS.

Data you give us

  • Name and email address. A password, stored only as a hash, when you create the account with email. If you continue with Google, we receive your name, email, and Google account id. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Dreams you submit: title, type (dream, nightmare, or lucid), transcript, and the audio file if you recorded one.
  • Your answers to the clarifying questions.
  • Mood notes and life story, if you save them on Profile.
  • Messages you send in Keep talking, on Dream Catcher+.
  • A request to email an exploration to the address on your account.

Data the service creates

  • The transcript of a recording, the short first look, and the longer exploration, including emotions, symbols, themes, and memory notes taken from an analysis.
  • A sign-in token kept on the device until you sign out or delete the account.
  • Dream Catcher+ status, the time it runs until, and the Google Play purchase token used to confirm the subscription. We do not receive your card number.
  • For a rewarded ad that unlocks a dream: the ad unit, Google’s transaction id, and which account and dream the reward belongs to.
  • Records of model use: which job ran (transcription, questions, reading, or conversation), the provider, the model name, token counts, and cost. These records do not store the dream text.
  • Operational request logs, such as the path and time of a request.

Why

We use this data to create and protect your account, keep the journal, transcribe audio you chose to record, write and show readings, remember context you saved, confirm a rewarded ad before a free exploration opens, turn Dream Catcher+ on only after Google Play confirms it, and email an exploration when you ask.

Who else receives it

  • The model provider configured for that job. Audio is sent for transcription. Dream text, your answers, saved memory, and Keep talking messages are sent when a reading or reply is written. The provider in use can be Google, OpenAI, xAI, or OpenRouter. Their own terms apply to that processing.
  • Google AdMob. When a rewarded ad is shown, the Google Mobile Ads SDK can collect an advertising ID, device information, and IP address under Google’s policies. We send your account id and the dream id to Google so the reward can be confirmed. We store the confirmed reward, not a copy of the advertising ID.
  • Google Play. Purchases of Dream Catcher+ are processed by Google. We receive the purchase token and whether the subscription is active.
  • Email delivery. If you send an exploration to yourself, that message goes through the mail server configured for this service, to the email on your account.

We do not sell your name, email, recordings, or dream text.

How long it stays

Account data, dreams, audio files, readings, questions, memory, conversations, ad-reward records, and the subscription rows we hold stay until the account is deleted. Sign-in tokens stay on the device until sign-out or deletion. Google may keep advertising and purchase records under Google’s own policies after you delete the Dream Catcher account.

Deletion

In the app, open Profile and choose Delete account. That deletes the account immediately. If you cannot open the app, use Delete your account. Deletion removes the account, dreams, audio files we stored, transcripts, readings, questions, memory, conversations, ad-reward records, and subscription rows we hold. Staff activity notes that named you are cleared. Model-use rows can remain with the link to your account removed; they keep the provider, model, token counts, and cost, not the dream text. Mail already delivered to your inbox stays there. Cancelling Dream Catcher+ is done in Google Play, separately.

Children

Dream Catcher is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. If you believe a child has an account, write to [email protected] and we will delete it.

Security

The published app talks to this service over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed. The sign-in token is stored in the device’s secure storage. Dream text in our database is not separately encrypted at rest.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. The current version is always at https://dream-catcher.agenticai-labs.ai/privacy.
