Dream Catcher

Catch the dream before morning takes it

Most of a dream is gone by the time the day has started. What remains is often a mood and one picture, rearranged into something that sounds tidy. The tidy version is already an edit.

Dream Catcher is built for the minute when you are still close to the night. You record a voice note, or you type. Speech is transcribed. The transcript is not the reading. You can change it — cut a wrong word, put a name back, leave a sentence unfinished — before any exploration is written.

That order matters. The questions that follow, and the page that follows them, are about the words you kept. A recording you never look at will drift. A paragraph you correct while the room is still dark is the dream you will recognise later.

You do not need a complete plot. A hallway, a colour, the fact that someone was angry and you could not see their face: that is enough to store. The app will ask two or three questions in the language of that dream, not a questionnaire in a language you did not dream in.

If you only remember it at lunch, write that. A late note is still a note. It is simply a different document from the one you would have had at the side of the bed.
